How Could This Happen?

Browsing though many military blogs this week, I was not all surprised at what I found. For the most part I searched through blogs composed by men and women who are currently in Afghanistan and for the most part I liked what I was reading. The men and women serving overseas have high spirits and enjoy helping the people they come across. If only things were going this smoothly back home.

I'm driving home from the sporting goods store and I hear a piece on the radio about Ft. Hood, naturally be wanting to possibly be stationed there I turn the dial up so I can hear clearly. What I hear was absolutely astonishing. There are been a shooting and there were 12 people dead and some 30 people wounded. To make matters even worse the shooter was a Major in the Army. Apparently he was set to be deployed to Iraq and seemed to be pretty distraught about the news.

Being deployed overseas is hard enough but to get news there personnel in the military are going on shooting rampages back home is uncalled for. I pray for the families of those killed in today's tragedy or wounded and hope that something like this never happens again.
